Alize passion liqueurs get new twist with French vodka

DBR Staff Writer Published 10 August 2010

France-based L& L, the producer and bottler of Alize, a French fruit liqueur brand, has enhanced its brand of fruit-based liqueurs. The company said that its traditional line of fruit liqueurs will now be transformed into vodka-based spirits and will offer better mixability.

The Alize fruit liqueur portfolio which currently comprises Red Passion, Gold Passion, Wild Passion, Rose Passion and Bleu Passion flavors will now be produced exclusively from passion fruit, fruit juices and premium French vodka.

The fruit nectars for ther Alize liqueurs come from the jungles of Brazil, the hillsides of Chile and the tropical shores of Pacific Islands.

L&L said that Alize Red Passion combines France's cognac with natural ingredients and flavors of cranberry, passion fruit and other fruits. Alize Wild Passion is a spin on the original blend with the addition of pink grapefruit and other fruit juices.

Alize Bleu is created by a new formulation that combines premium French vodka, France's cognac, passion fruit, cherry, ginger and other natural exotic fruit juices.

The French company suggests that Alize is good to be served on the rocks or in martinis, cosmopolitans, margaritas and mimosas.

Kobrand Corporation, an importer of alcoholic beverages in the US, introduced the Alize, a blend of passion fruit and other fruit juices, and cognac, in the country in 1986.

All liqueurs in the Alize line-up have an ABV of 16% and sell at a retail price of $19.99 for 750ml and $23.99 for 1L.
