Castle Brands creates JV with Drink Pie for Travis Hasse’s liqueurs

DBR Staff Writer Published 09 August 2010

Castle Brands, a developer and international marketer of branded spirits and wines, has entered into a joint venture deal with Drink Pie to manufacture and market Travis Hasse’s Original Apple Pie Liqueur, Cherry Pie Liqueur and any new products in this line that will be developed in future.

According to the terms of the agreement, Castle Brands will be paid a per-case fee and will acquire an increasing stake in the brand’s value as volume increases.

The new JV business owns the exclusive global rights to make and market Travis Hasse’s Original Pie Liqueurs. Castle Brands has the global distribution rights for this brand.

Castle Brands said that it will use its current infrastructure, sales force and distributor network to promote the brands.

The Drink Pie brand founder Travis Hasse said that Castle Brands is an excellent partner and a solid home for his brand.

This partnership with Castle Brands provides him a strong national sales force and an outstanding distribution network without the cost of additional personnel.

Castle Brands' chief operating officer John Glover said that the company is confident in its ability to rapidly grow this brand and look forward to working closely with Travis to achieve its mutual goals.

“In fact, distributors in several new states have already agreed to take on the brand,” Glover said.

Travis Hasse owns the Missouri Tavern in Madison, Wisconsin. He is the developer of Travis Hasse’s Original Apple Pie Liqueurs which now have sales in approximately 20 states. He developed Travis Hasse’s Original Cherry Pie Liqueur in 2009.

Drink Pie suggests that, in addition to making good shots, these liqueurs can be used in a range of cocktails and culinary applications.

Castle Brands' portfolio includes Gosling's Rum, Pallini Limoncello, Raspicello and Peachcello, Boru Vodka, Knappogue Castle Whiskey, Clontarf Irish Whiskey, Jefferson's, Jefferson's Presidential Select and Jefferson's Reserve Bourbon, Celtic Crossing Liqueur, Brady's Irish Cream, A De Fussigny Cognacs and Tierras tequila.

The company also has a fine wine division.
