Deccan Plateau Unveils New Line Of Wines

Plans to export the wines to Europe, the US and South Africa

Deccan Plateau Wines, a winery based in Pune, India, has introduced a series of new regional Indian wines. The range of wines brought out by Deccan Plateau include Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Zinfandel, Cabernet-Shiraz, and Shiraz-Cabernet-Merlot.

The company said that launch of Trivalli (Shiraz-Cabernet-Merlot) wines is first for any wine maker in the country. The wine comes with black currants, blackberries, cherries and clove.

According to Nitin Shinde and Girish Kamble, wine makers and promoters of Deccan Plateau wines, the brand of wines will raise the quality bar very high and will be finally India's turn to capture the international wine markets. The wines are a blend of different flavors of spices.

Mr Shinde said that the wines will be exported to Europe, the US and South Africa. The wines will be launched in Pune, Goa, and Aurangabad immediately and soon in Mumbai.

The company claims to use a selection from grape varietals from Canopy Management, Nutrient management to Water Management, all cultivated using organic fertilizers and pesticides.

The company said it has plans to introduce Rose Wine as well as Sauvignon Blanc (white) wines in 2010. Rose's will be semi-sweet, while Sauvignon Blanc, will come with a fruit flavor with a hint of eucalyptus.

Mr Kamble and Mr Shinde said that Deccan Plateau also offer professional consultancy services from plantation vineyard to vinery techniques. The services include Vineyard design, development and management, wine-making, Winery design , Building design , Process design ,Machinery and Contract Production , and Contract Wine-making and contract Bottling.
