Fireball Cinnamon whiskey outpaces competition in US flavored spirits market

DBR Staff Writer Published 19 June 2013

Buffalo Trace's Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey is enjoying significant growth at US restaurants, bars and hotels, according to Restaurant Sciences, an independent firm which tracks food and beverage product sales throughout the foodservice industry in North America.

Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey is a cinnamon-flavored whisky-based liqueur produced by the Sazerac Company, which is the parent company of Buffalo Trace Distillery.

While other flavored whiskeys are also increasing share, Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey is outpacing its competition in overall share and popularity.

Liqueurs and Vodka, both plain and flavored, however, registered modest declines.

Restaurant Sciences president Chuck Ellis said flavored spirits as a category rose in popularity.

"In establishments selling Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey over the past year, Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey is approaching seven percent dollar share of spirits up from 3 percent dollar share in April 2012," Ellis added.

rb"Currently, Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey registers more than 2 percent dollar share of spirits in the US overall market. As Fireball's distribution expands, the overall share will continue to grow."
